Internal renovation of the China-Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Friendship Tower in Pyongyang has been completed. A completion ceremony was held with over 100 DPRK officials and other citizens and about 40 Chinese people in attendance, including staff members of the Chinese Embassy, representatives of Chinese-funded institutions, media workers and overseas Chinese in the DPRK.
The Friendship Tower, a monument dedicated to the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) who fought in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea from 1950 to 1953, was erected in 1959. A Korean inscription on the tower praises the great achievements of the CPV martyrs and the friendship between the two countries.
