Two snow leopards were spotted in footage from infrared cameras placed at an elevation of about 4,000 meters in Taohe National Nature Reserve, northwest China's Gansu Province.

This is the first time they have been captured on film since the 2022 wildlife survey and monitoring in the reserve.

The video provides evidence the region has become a stable habitat for snow leopards, one of the first-class state protected animals in China.

A variety of other wild animals, such as blue sheep, vultures, Tibetan snowcocks and red foxes, were also spotted, which helped to prove the integrity of its biological chain in the area.
