"Yuanmeng" was born on August 4, 2017 at Beauval Zoo, and was the first panda born in France. Brigitte Macron, the first lady of France, named it with "Yuanmeng", which means "the realization of a wish" or "accomplishment of a dream". Before it sets off, it will be placed in quarantine in France for a month. He will then be transferred in an air-conditioned van to Frankfurt airport in Germany and then travel to Chengdu, accompanied at all times by a carer and vet from Beauval.
