New Zealand PM's Shanghai stop aims to boost tourism sector

New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins arrived in Shanghai with a team of business delegates on June 29, the last stop of his China trip. The Shanghai trip is aimed at boosting diplomatic and business ties between the two countries, including in the tourism sector.

At a news briefing held in Shanghai, Hipkins said he is glad to see more Chinese tourists travel to New Zealand after borders were closed due to COVID-19. The country expects to welcome between 150,000 to 200,000 Chinese travelers this year.
