The new site of China Media Group's (CMG) Asia-Pacific headquarters was officially inaugurated in the HKSAR on Friday.

President of CMG Shen Haixiong, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Bureau of The Government of the HKSAR, Algernon Yau Ying-wah, and Zhang Guoyi, deputy director general of the Department of Publicity, Cultural and Sports Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, attended the ceremony.

As the non-mainland headquarters with the highest number of subordinate sites, the broadest coverage, and catering to diverse populations and language groups, the Asia-Pacific headquarters of CMG has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the outstanding track record of CMG's high-quality development in external communication since its establishment in 2020.

Shen expressed hope that all employees of the Asia-Pacific headquarters of CMG will vividly showcase the vibrant vitality of China in the new era to overseas audiences through more high-quality works.

After the inauguration ceremony, Shen and representatives from various sectors visited the newsroom, multi-functional television production studio and integrated media broadcasting studio of the Asia-Pacific headquarters.

They explored achievements in utilizing artificial intelligence for news monitoring, document processing and automated video synthesis. Through video conference dialogues, they connected with reporters from the Tokyo bureau, who are currently conducting interview reports in Fukushima, Japan, to gather insights into their on-site work progress.

The Asia-Pacific headquarters of CMG was first established in December 2020 in the HKSAR. It oversees 20 stations and one program production base, covering 41 countries and regions, reaching an audience of over 3.3 billion.

The newly inaugurated Asia-Pacific headquarters has an area of approximately 1,770 square meters and is located in Hung Hom, Kowloon Cultural District of the HKSAR. It possesses versatile multimedia program production capabilities, including television, radio, and new media formats. The facility is designed to accommodate the diverse needs of news releases and media events.
