Canada's most populous city of Toronto has been clouded by smoke from the wildfires raging in several provinces in western and eastern areas of the country.

On Wednesday, the smoke caused poor air quality in the city where the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) exceeded 10 at 4 p.m. local time, representing a "very high risk" level.

The city was left shrouded by a dense haze as its famous skyline, including the iconic CN Tower, was obscured by smoke. By the end of Wednesday, the AQHI had fallen to 3, which signifies a "low risk" level.
