A foreign national shot dead two people on Friday at Moldova's Chisinau International Airport after being denied entry to the country, the Interior Ministry said.
The country's special police force, Fulger, detained the perpetrator, a 43-year-old citizen of Tajikistan, after the shooting. He was wounded during the incident and received medical care, the Moldpres news agency said, referencing information released by the Interior Ministry.
Using a gun stolen from a border police officer, the suspect shot dead a border policeman and an airport security employee while being accompanied to a special holding area for people refused entry to the country, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
One other person was wounded and taken into medical care, he added.
