"We will continue to work positively with respect to the Belt and Road Initiative, we appreciate the wisdom of it," said Mia Amor Mottley, prime minister of Barbados, in an exclusive interview with China Media Group. "We thought that it was perfect in terms of being able to maintain the connectivity and create opportunities for countries globally. I genuinely believe that the world is a better place if it comes together to work together."
She noted that China has been a "strong development partner of Barbados" since the country became an independent nation, as the then prime minister stated in his first speech at the United Nations that the country "should be friends of all, satellites of none."
