China urged the Netherlands on Saturday to stop implementing measures that hinder the normal cooperation and development of the semiconductor industry between the two countries.
A spokesperson from China's Commerce Ministry made the appeal after the Dutch government announced new restrictions on the exports of certain semiconductor equipment on Friday. This move supports a U.S.-led effort to limit the supply of high-tech components to China.
In a statement published on its website, the ministry expressed strong opposition to this action, stating that it is coerced by the U.S. and artificially promotes industrial decoupling and chain breaking. China believes that these restrictions will seriously damage the development of the global semiconductor industry.
