Chinese characters make Chinese civilization continuous
02:06

In CGTN's special report "The Flame of Civilization," Director of Chinese Archaeological Museum Gong Wen displayed oracle bone inscriptions dating back over 3000 years, and said these inscriptions are connected to the Chinese characters we use today, and even a common Chinese person can recognize some of the oracle bone scripts. Well-known historian Wang Gungwu pointed out that Chinese characters are a truly unique part of Chinese civilization. They contain a sense of the past, which led to developing a sense of retaining documents and records of the past. From these records, "future generations can learn from the past, not to make the same mistakes, but do all the right things, the good things."
