CGTN Interviewed Abdi Zenebe Meskela, chief executive officer (CEO) of the Ethiopia-Djibouti Railway Share Company (EDR). The Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway is the first modern cross-border, standard-gauge, electrified railway in Africa. The railway starts from Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa in the west to Djibouti's port in the east, spanning Ethiopia and Djibouti, with a total length of 759 kilometers. It is a living example of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative in Africa. According to Meskela, the commercial operation of the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway has benefited the region enormously.
