A "Youth and Future" media action campaign was launched in China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Saturday to promote the development of young people in the special administrative region.

The campaign is jointly sponsored by the Macao SAR government and China Media Group (CMG), which has authorized Macao Broadcasting to broadcast eight original, high-quality programs for free.

Speaking at the launch, Ho Iat Seng, chief executive of the Macao SAR, said caring for young people is an important task, and the SAR government performs its duties and governance by creating a better environment for their education, employment, entrepreneurship and living.

Ho said the campaign activities will surely further promote the progress and development of young people in Macao.

Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of CMG, said the campaign is a concrete action to promote the development of Macao youth, giving full play to the advantages of "One Country, Two Systems."

Shen said CMG will build a stage for the youth of the Greater Bay Area to display their talents and realize their dreams by promoting integration and exchanges.

According to a cooperation agreement signed at the launch, both the Macao SAR government and CMG will pool forces from the government, media and enterprises to jointly implement the plans to support the career development of Macao youth, including employment, entrepreneurship training and educational trips to high-tech enterprises on the mainland, among other activities.

According to the organizer, this is another innovative achievement of the continuous deepening of the strategic cooperation between the Macao SAR government and CMG.

The campaign is expected to add new impetus to Macao's integration into the overall development of the whole country.
