China's meteorological authorities on Monday renewed a blue alert for rainstorms in 11 parts of the country. Provincial areas including Shandong, Jiangsu, Sichuan and Guizhou may experience heavy rain and thunder storms.

To tackle the possible problems including floods and landslides, local authorities in these areas have launched their emergency response. Schools and kindergartens have been asked to ensure the safety of students and children, and drivers have been advised to exercise caution due to potential waterlogging and traffic congestion. Also, for residents  living in low-lying areas that are easily flooded, local authorities have prepared a plan to transfer them temporarily. The drainage systems of cities, farmlands and fish ponds are required to be checked in order to face any flood emergency.
