Expert: Economics the main reason behind Japan's decision to dump the contaminated water

As neighboring countries and fishing industries continue their protests against Japan's plan to dump contaminated Fukushima nuclear water into the sea, the chief of the UN nuclear agency went to Japan on July 4. Mahawira Dillon, energy policy researcher at the Yayasan Indonesia Cerah, said that it came down to economics rather than other considerations when the Japanese government insisted on dumping the nuclear-contaminated water into the sea.
