Eight people were injured in a car-ramming and stabbing attack in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv on Tuesday, according to Israeli officials.
A vehicle hit civilians standing on the street, after which the driver got out and stabbed several people, the Israel Police said.
The assailant, who was identified as Hasin Halila, a 23-year-old from southern West Bank, was shot and killed by an armed civilian.
Hamas, a Palestinian armed group and movement, praised the attack. In a statement, the group said that it was "a first response to the crimes of the occupation" in Jenin.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said on Tuesday that 10 people were killed and 100 others injured after Israel's airstrikes and ground raids in Jenin on Monday, while the Israeli army said the operation aimed to launch "an extensive counterterrorism effort."
