Having just turned 20, Ma Yan prefers to sing in the natural environment. He has a unique feeling when he sings Hua'er folk music at the foot of Helan Mountain in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. His songs come out of the universe and resemble poetry. So, he sings about a return to the green hills and white clouds.
