Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday called for strengthening exchanges and mutual learning among countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and fostering closer people-to-people ties.
Xi made the remarks when attending the SCO summit via video link.
Xi said the harmonious development of diverse civilizations is the vision shared by the people in the region.
China welcomes all parties to work together to implement the Global Civilization Initiative and promote the inclusive coexistence of different civilizations to foster mutual understanding and friendship among peoples of all countries, he said.
