Chinese President Xi Jinping called on members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to follow the right direction and enhance their solidarity and mutual trust.
Xi made the remarks while attending the SCO summit via video link on Tuesday.
He said that members of the SCO need to strengthen strategic communication and coordination, resolve differences through dialogue, transcend competition through cooperation, earnestly respect each other's core interests and major concerns, and firmly support each other in achieving development and revitalization.
Xi said that SCO members should proceed from the overall and long-term interests of regions, independently formulate foreign policies, and firmly hold the future and destiny of development and progress.
