Nine people were injured in a drive-by shooting in Washington, D.C., early Wednesday as residents were still celebrating the Fourth of July, police said.
The injured include two juveniles, aged 9 and 17, Metropolitan Police Assistant Chief Leslie Parsons said in an update on Twitter. All victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, he added.
The shots were fired from a dark-colored SUV that had been going down Meade Street, Parsons said, adding that police were alerted to the shooting shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday.
