The concept of "a community of shared future for mankind" was hailed at an international conference held in Beijing on Wednesday, where government officials from three different continents, leaders of world organizations, and scholars were invited to share insights on post-COVID-19 revitalization, global ecological governance, exchanges between different civilizations, multilateralism, among others.
Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the conference's opening ceremony, where he highlighted the importance of global peace and stability, and called to promote the power of "win-win cooperation" with an inclusive heart.
China will continue to adhere to its commitment of peaceful development, and make more contributions to the building of "a community of shared future for mankind," Li said at the Great Hall of the People.

Officials hail the concept
Stjepan Mesić, former president of Croatia, said the value of "a community of shared future for mankind" has served important meanings as the world is now facing challenges in geo-politics, globalization and world security.
"The global situation we are facing now is not optimistic. In order to maintain control of the global economy, technology and strategic locations, some Western powers ignore the values of peace, cooperation and détente of diplomatic relations," Mesić said via online link.
"China's grand strategy of building a new global order of a community with a shared future for mankind is in stark contrast to the geopolitical strategies of other major powers."
Former Prime Minister of Japan Yukio Hatoyama spoke highly of China's role in world peace at the conference, noting the role Beijing has played in the normalization of ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
In regards to economy revitalization, he highlighted the role of regional development, specifically pointing out the importance of the cooperation framework between Japan, China and South Korea. "Japan and South Korea should make it clear that they do not support 'Taiwan independence.' I also want to stress that if we fail to recognize the benefits of a Japan-China-South Korea framework without the participation of the United States, we will miss a valuable opportunity," he noted.
Former Deputy Prime Minister of Poland Grzegorz W. Kołodko slammed the remarks of the United States and the UK at the conference, which view the initiative as a way of China's "expansion."
"'Sino-skepticism' is bad for globalization. The most important thing now is to work towards an inclusive globalization," he said.
