Japan set for ocean discharge plan

In the 11 years since the Fukushima nuclear disaster, the Japanese government has been presented with five options for disposing the contaminated wastewater. The one it has chosen is the cheapest – discharging the wastewater into the sea. However, the harm it is likely to cause to the marine environment is not just off the coast of Japan but potentially much further afield.
