In an exclusive interview with CGTN's Tian Wei, Mushahid Hussain Syed, chairman of the Pakistan Senate Defense Committee and Pakistan-China Institute, says Asian hands are shaping the destiny of Asia. He agrees that Asian countries are taking the initiative in regional development and points to the examples of the China-Central Asia Summit and the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor to illustrate that Asian countries are the initiators of regional connectivity rather than the West. He commends China for making outstanding contributions to the peace and development of Asia. He hails China as "an honest broker" in the historic reconciliation between Saudi Arabia and Iran and the rapprochement between Syria and other Arab countries.
