00:58

Seven Przewalski's horses have been born in the Dunhuang Xihu National Nature Reserve in northwest China's Gansu Province this year. It marks significant progress in the conservation of the species.

As a nationally protected top-class animal, the Przewalski's horse was on the brink of extinction in the 1960s. In the 1980s, China started to reintroduce these horses to the wild. Since the initial release of 28 Przewalski's horses between 2010 and 2012, the population has now grown to 97.
