Chinese expert: Japan only gave IAEA the least expensive option for assessment

Japan is edging closer to initiating the discharge of water from Fukushima into the ocean after receiving approval from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) earlier this week. In response to this significant development, China has reaffirmed its opposition. During an interview with CGTN reporter Chen Mengfei, Chinese nuclear waste expert Wei Fangxin elaborated on why Japan's approval from the IAEA was deemed problematic.
