Many Chinese football fans sigh over the lackluster performances of the country's male national team.
But this villager-organized football tournament, or "Cun Chao," in SW China's Guizhou Province has gone viral on the internet, with the hashtag being viewed over 3 billion times. The stadium in Rongjiang County where it is played has attract a spectatorship double that of matches in China's top leagues. CGTN reporter Li Jiaming traveled to Rongjiang to experience the famous game in person and explore the stories behind its success.
