Seven people were rescued, including one person showing no vital signs, after a landslide hit a highway construction site in Yueshan Village, Tujia Autonomous County of Wufeng, central China's Hubei Province, on Saturday afternoon, local authorities said on Sunday at a news conference.
Seven others are still missing, authorities said, and search and rescue operations are ongoing.
The landslide of more than 500,000 cubic meters struck the construction site in the village at around 4 p.m. on Saturday.
The injured have been sent to hospital for medical treatment, and 17 residents living nearby have been relocated.
