Airstrikes carried out by the United States Africa Command (Africom) in support of the Somali government have killed 10 al-Shabaab terrorists in Somalia, the U.S. military said on Sunday.

Africom said the collective self-defense strikes, which were carried out overnight at the request of the Somali government, occurred in a remote area near Afmadow, approximately 105 kilometers north of Kismayo.
