Wuxi is a city that has a long history and a thriving economy. Like a dazzling pearl, it is embedded along the southern bank of the Yangtze River and the shore of Taihu Lake, earning it the nickname the "Pearl of the Taihu Lake." As the birthplace of ancient Wu culture, it is also the hometown to many modern talents in various fields such as writer Qian Zhongshu, painter Xu Beihong and snooker prodigy Ding Junhui. Today, Wuxi continues to fascinate people with its abundant cultural and tourism resources, such as the Lingshan Scenic Area, Nianhua Bay and Hailan Equestrian Club. It is also famous for its products of intangible cultural heritage like Yixing purple clay teapots and Huishan clay figurines.
