The Xiangcheng Sports Center is gearing up to host the women's water polo competitions at the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games, less than one month away. The FISU World University Games, formally known as the Universiade, will open in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province, on July 28.
A range of water-wise measures have been put in place at the Xiangcheng Sports Center. The venue is surrounded by pavements built from permeable materials and sunken green space with rain-collecting cloth and permeable soil, which are connected to the venue's rainwater harvesting and storage systems. The water collected can be used for cleaning and irrigation and replenishing the central air-conditioning system's cooling tower.
