On July 6, police in Horgos City rescued a long-eared owl chick while patrolling in Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, northwest China. According to the police, there was no wound on the chick, but it was too young to fly or hunt. The police took it back to the office for further observation, and then contacted the forestry department for transferring. The chick will be released when it can live on its own.
