The United Nations has led calls opposing the U.S. government's decision to send cluster munitions to support Ukraine. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres says he does not want to see their continued use, and called on countries to abide by the Convention on Cluster Munitions. The Russian Foreign Ministry says the U.S. move aims to prolong the conflict. Leaders from New Zealand, Spain, Cambodia and Iran have also voiced opposition to Washington’s decision.
