Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday afternoon met with visiting Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands Manasseh Sogavare in Beijing.
Xi recalled his first meeting with Sogavare in Beijing in October 2019, 18 days after China and the Solomon Islands established diplomatic relations. He said at the time that friendship does not have a particular order, and that if it is turned on, it will have a bright future. According to him, the friendship and cooperation between China and the Solomon Islands have risen to the forefront of China's relations with Pacific island countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
