In the streams of northern Guangdong Province lurks an ancient species having existed from time immemorial, the Chinese crocodile lizard. The creature is a reptile with a lizard-like head and a body resembling that of a crocodile. Once roaming the Earth alongside dinosaurs, the living fossil species goes back 250 million years. In the research about primitive reptiles' origins and evolution, the crocodile lizard is of significant value. As the night approaches, a katydid enters the crocodile lizard's sight. With a clean shot, it bags the insect as dinner. Daytime hours aren't wasted either. Any insect spotted by the crocodile lizard is likely to end up in its belly. It keeps feeding even on rainy days.
