The maintenance of peace and stability in the region is a priority for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and an essential foundation to turn the region into an epicenter of growth, Indonesian Minister for Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi said in a speech at the opening ceremony of the 56th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Jakarta on Tuesday.
