The theater version of the popular TV drama "The Age of Awakening" has been staged in Beijing on the last leg of its national tour. The play centers on the launch and development of "Youth" magazine between 1915 and 1921. It plots the journey of a diverse group of determined Chinese intellectuals and youths during the early 20th century, including Li Dazhao, Chen Duxiu and Hu Shi. When the TV drama first aired in 2021, it became one of the biggest hits, inspiring many young people to learn more about China's revolutionary history.
