Spain has endured its second heatwave since Monday, putting 34 provinces on alert as daily maximum temperatures soared to above 44 degrees Celsius in parts of the country. According to Spain's State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the scorching heatwave affected more than 36 million residents in 13 of the country's 17 regions on Tuesday. Provinces such as Cordoba, Jaen and Granada issued red alerts for heat, indicating extreme risk and temperatures above 44 degrees Celsius were recorded in several provinces of the region of Andalusia on the day.
