Coconut rice is a local specialty dessert of south China's Hainan, which is also called "coconut boat" due to its characteristic shape that resembles a boat. It's made by removing the top of a coconut shell and filling in with glutinous rice and dried coconut flakes. After it's filled, the coconut is boiled for several hours before being cut open and served as a dessert.
