The Wanshou Palace Historical and Cultural Block, located in the downtown area of Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, is a large area consisting of an old residential block, a commercial block, and a religious and cultural block, featuring eight ancient streets and a cluster of historical buildings reflecting the architectural styles during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

Built in 312, the Wanshou Palace, which is also known as Tiezhu Wanshou Palace, is a famous Taoist temple at the heart of the block. The network of ancient streets surrounding the palace forms the Wanshou Palace Historical and Cultural Block, which was established on the original site of the Tiezhu Wanshou Palace in 1873.

The Wanshou Palace Historical and Cultural Block was one of three major commercial centers in the regions south of the Yangtze River during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing dynasties. During that time, the block developed into a bustling commercial hub due to the rapid development of water transportation, attracting a lot of merchants to do business and form residential communities there.

Nowadays, this ancient area still retains much of its former glory. After 6 years of renovation work, the block reopened to the public with a brand-new appearance while retaining its original urban design, historical relics and ancient residences.

At the same time, the block was expanded to include modern buildings, leisure spots, and up-to-date tourism facilities. The rise of the local night markets has boosted the economic growth of the local tourism industry. In 2023, it was listed as one of China's national-level tourism and leisure blocks.
