The face masks used in the Peking Opera are called "lianpu" in Chinese. Lianpu is the colorful dressing on the performers' faces, and helps to identify and understand the various roles in plays. To promote this form of intangible cultural heritage, a school in Deqing, Zhejiang has carried out an activity to give students hands-on experiences of painting lianpu.
