The Syrian government has said the United Nations (UN) can use a border crossing, Bab Al-Hawa, from Türkiye to continue delivering aid to northwest Syria, according to Syria's UN ambassador Bassam Sabbagh on Thursday.
The ambassador tweeted that he has informed UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the current Security Council president that Damascus "has taken the sovereign decision to grant the UN permission to use Bab al-Hawa crossing to deliver humanitarian aid to the Syrian people in northwest Syria for a period of six months as of today July 13."
