China win women's discus throw, pole vault at Asian Athletics Championships

The Chinese track and field team swept the gold and silver medals in the women's discus throw and women's pole vault events on the third day of the Asian Athletics Championships on Friday.

Feng Bin won the women's discus title with a throw of 66.42 meters, and Wang Fang finished second with 58.49 meters.

In the women's pole vault final, Li Ling secured the victory with 4.66 meters, before narrowly missing out on challenging her own Asian record by 0.01 meters in a later attempt. Niu Chunge finished second with 4.51 meters.

Meanwhile, Xu Zhuoyi won silver in the men's 110m hurdles clocking 13.39 seconds. Xu Shuangshuang grabbed silver in the women's 3,000m steeplechase in 9:44.54. Zhong Jiawei added a bronze medal for China in the women's long jump with an attempt of 6.46 meters.

In the women's 100m final, China's Ge Manqi won bronze with 11.40 seconds. Singapore's Veronica Shanti Pereira finished first with 11.20 seconds which made her the first champion at this tournament from her country.

China have bagged five golds, seven silvers, and three bronzes in the tournament which takes place from July 12 to 16 in in Bangkok, Thailand.
