Wang Zongyuan and Long Daoyi of China won the men's 3-meter synchronized gold medal at the World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, on Saturday.

The Chinese pair had the highest score in five of the six dives, securing the final victory with dominant 456.33 points. They have got qualification for this event in the Paris Olympics in 2024.

Jack Laugher and Anthony Harding of Great Britain had the silver with 424.62 points. The bronze went to Jules Bouyer and Alexis Jandard of France who got 389.1 points.

Lin Shan and Li Yajie of China won the women's 1-meter spring board gold and silver medals respectively.

The race for the title was basically between the two Chinese divers from the beginning as the two remained top two in all five rounds. Lin was rated the highest score in her first, third and fifth dives before wrapping the competition up with a total score of 318.6 points.

Li topped everyone else in the fourth dive with 61.5 points when she finished a 305C at 3.0 of degree of difficulty (DD), but Lin sealed the deal with 68.9 points with a 5333D at a DD of 2.6 in the fifth round.

Aranza Vazquez Montano of Mexico got the bronze medal with 285.05 points.

Earlier on the day, Chinese diving pair Wang Feilong and Zhang Jiaqi won the mixed 10-meter synchronized gold medal.

The two made a good start for the Chinese diving team, which has been one of the most dominant forces of the sport, in Fukuoka. It was the first time Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Zhang was paired with 14-year-old Wang in a major international tournament.

The Chinese pair led in every of the first three dives, getting 55.8, 54 and 81.9 points with 201B at 2.0 of DD, 301B at 2.0 of DD and 107B at 3.0 of DD respectively.

Jose Diego Balleza Isaias and Viviana Del Angel Peniche of Mexico ranked first in the fourth and the fifth dives, but it was not enough for them to catch up with Wang and Zhang. They finished the competition in second.

Hiroki Ito and Minami Itahashi of Japan won the bronze medal.
