In an exclusive interview with China Media Group (CMG), Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare said the South Pacific nations have a very clear "no-nuclear" position. He said South Pacific nations have witnessed the devastating and catastrophic results of the nuclear testing in Marshall Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
Sogavare added that there was regional concern over last year's announcement of the AUKUS agreement, a trilateral security pact between Australia, the UK and the United States, which will eventually provide Australia with a fleet of up to eight nuclear powered submarines.
