This is Sarajevo – sometimes referred to as the Jerusalem of Eastern Europe, where rich history and diverse cultures and regions converge. As the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the city has huge potential to grow as a regional hub. However, sluggish development has been driving people away. With a population of around 3 million in Bosnia and Herzegovina, estimates suggest that this number may decrease by half in the next 10 years if people continue to seek better opportunities elsewhere. The Belt and Road Initiative is offering new avenues by bringing in construction projects that create jobs and better financing packages to boost the country's development.
