Two people have died and thousands have been forced to evacuate their homes as a result of heavy rain in South Korea, Yonhap reported on Saturday, citing authorities.
The two people died due to a building collapse triggered by a landslide in the country's South Chungcheong province on Friday.
More than 8,000 residents have been evacuated across the country, before the Goesan Dam began to overflow at around 6:30 a.m. local time.
One person was missing and six others suffered injuries as of 6 a.m. local time on Saturday, the South Korean Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters said.
