A Chinese scientific research ship has returned to port after finishing a research mission on deep-diving and pelagic cetaceans living in the South China Sea, during which more than 15 kinds of cetaceans were spotted. After a 20-day voyage of more than 3,500 kilometers, the team aboard the ship completed their research on the species diversity, population status and geographical distribution pattern of cetaceans in the South China Sea, and obtained preliminary results.
