Typhoon Talim prompts response measures in south China
00:55

Typhoon Talim, the fourth typhoon this year, made landfall in the coastal area of south China's Guangdong Province on July 17. It has prompted response measures, such as rearrangement for unmanned oil and gas production on offshore oilfields and evacuations for local fishermen. China Media Group captured live footage of the gigantic waves by the Enping Oilfield in the eastern South China Sea. Over 3,000 fishing boats have returned to port for shelter and personnel have been deployed to guard the docks. Nearly 5,000 members of the city's emergency response and rescue teams have been mobilized in case of an emergency.
