A commencement ceremony was held on July 18 in the Serbian village of Saraorci for the first photovoltaic project undertaken by a Chinese enterprise in the country. Dubravka Dedovic, Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy, said that the Serbian government is introducing various incentives to encourage photovoltaic projects and hopes Chinese enterprises can participate more in Serbia's renewable energy development.
By adopting China's most advanced technologies and equipment brands, the project will provide over 16 gigawatt hours of green electricity annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 16,000 tonnes upon completion.
