China's biodiversity is best witnessed up close. CGTN's Tian Wei and United Nations Development Programme's China Representative Beate Trankmann did the rounds in Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture in southwest China's Yunnan Province, where one in ten terrestrial and aquatic animals in China can be found. After their close encounters with the wild at the nature reserve, Trankmann says the experience was really very powerful. She says China's efforts to protect biodiversity have paid off. The country has gotten better at protecting valuable ecosystems through the years.
