USAID chief pledges $250 million to help Ukrainian farmers
01:14

USAID chief Samantha Power said on Tuesday that Russia had made a "reckless, dangerous decision" to cut off grain exports to the world by backing out from the Black Sea Grain Initiative. Though Russia formally announced it would halt the grain deal on Monday, Power said grain and oil prices are already increasing. Power also announced $250 million in funding to boost Ukraine's agricultural sector. Ukraine and Russia are both major global suppliers of wheat, barley, sunflower oil and other food that developing nations rely on.
